Calories burnt at gym Ok so i've been losing weight at a steady weight of 1 1.5lbs a week, which I'm really happy about, but my defecit usually averages about 2000kcal a week, so somethings not adding up(I suspect it is more like 4000kcal+). At the gym i do cardio for 30mins and burn 300kcal according to the machine, so i log this in my activity log, no problem so far.Then i do 30 40 mins polo ralph lauren viola of weights/abs/strength training. This is a lower body day, i usually log it as 5 mins light calisthenics, 12 minutes weight lifting light, 8 minutes weight lifting heavy.I do all my exercises to exhaustion, so sometimes 11rps sometimes 6 but this is the general guide. It seems weird to log it as 30 minutes heavy weight lifting, since obviously rest between reps etc.I'm just not sure how to Ralph lauren home log it and i'm obviously not doing it correctly at the moment as my burn meter is too low. May seem a petty thing borse ralph lauren to be annoyed about but i really like to know what's going in and out etc.Cc says it's over 600kcal/hr burnt, but it definitely doesn't seem like that much, i tried splitting it into:Swimming laps slow, swimming laps fast etc but it still doesn't seem right.I was doing weights for 30 mins, or do you log lifting time like i was actually working for 17mins. My stats are 5'5"148lbs 21 years old, female. Please all helpful comments appreciated! I'd log total activity time the estimates for lifting include recovery time.Alternately, if you do the sets with minimal rest or supersets you can use circuit training instead and log total workout time.When strength training your metabolism is elevated for up to 38 hours post exercise, so the calories you burn while you're working out is only part of what lifting does for you. Water polo is deceptive you don't feel the exertion as much since water is very efficient at cooling you down.If you're pushing yourself to the point where you're breathing hard and need to recover, you're burning more calories than you would at rest.
